Pintz János: On zero-density theorems IV
Abstract: The number of zeros of the Riemann zeta or Dirichlet
L-functions near to the boundary of the critical strip, i. e. near the
line Res=1 play an important role in various problems of the theory of
primes. We give a survey lecture about a general zero-density theorem
for Dirichlet series. The theorem gives new estimates for the zeros of
Dedekind zeta functions, Beurling zeta functions and (together with
other ideas) for functions in the Selberg class. (The proof of the
general theorem, based on an idea of Gabor Halasz and the
zero-detection method of Montgomery will be presented in the 2nd
lecture.)
