The Department of Mathematical Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences awaits its visitors with a rich program, lectures, film screenings and an exhibition in January. On the opening day, January 5, the topic will be: Artificial Intelligence through a Mathematical Eye. The first lecture will be given by Anna Christ Miranda (University of California – UC Berkeley), a member of the Rényi Institute research team.

Closer to the History of Hungarian Mathematics - Radio Interview with János Pach

János Pach, research professor at the Rényi Institute, gave an interview to Trend FM. The occasion for the conversation was that this year Maryna Viazovska, the Ukrainian mathematician who became world-famous for solving the 8- and 24-dimensional sphere packing problem, received the László Fejes Tóth Award and its accompanying medal. János Pach spoke in the program about Maryna Viazovska's achievements and career, as well as about the renowned Hungarian mathematician László Fejes Tóth.
