Schweitzer Ádám: Combinatorial Hodge Theory

Recently methods in combinatorial Hodge theory have been used successfully to settle long standing conjectures about certain characteristic sequences of matroids. This talk will survey some of the central definitions and methods used without delving into the underlying algebraic geometry.
