Leírás

The concept of twisted wreath product was introduced by B. H. Neumann in 1963.
Twisted wreath products appear in the classification of primitive permutation
groups. (However, they were missing from the first - incomplete - version
of the O'Nan-Scott Theorem.) M. Aschbacher applied twisted wreath products
to construct groups with certain prescribed intervals in the subgroup lattice.
In fact, the problem of representing finite lattices as intervals in
subgroup lattices of finite groups can be reduced either to the case of
almost simple groups or to the case of twisted wreath products.
