Leírás

Modelling the incidence of diseases is a complex task, the foremost problem being its multi-faceted nature. We can model how the incidence evolves over time (which itself might mean several time scales: how it changes within a day, within a week, within a year, etc.), we can model how it differs geographically (which again can mean several levels of granularity), we might model how it affects different groups of the population, such as different genders, different age groups, people with different comorbidities etc. In the talk I'll briefly outline possible approaches to handle these questions, all in the framework of using regression models, and I'll also discuss possible unified approaches.
