The European Research Council (ERC) was established by the European Commission in 2007 with the aim of providing financial support for scientific and technological research within the Union.
The Council's governing body, the Scientific Council, consists of excellent researchers and internationally recognized scientists, of which the Director of the HUN-REN Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics has now become a member.
