The Bolyai Society plays a significant role in discovering and supporting mathematical talent. The first session in the January program series focusing on the Section of Mathematics at the Hungarian Acedemy of Sciences discussed many valuable and long-standing initiatives of this civil organization, which has around 900 members. The majority are teachers and active educators, and the Society's versatile talent development activities were also recognized with the Prima Primissima Award in 2021.
As part of the festive program series entitled Colorful Science at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences celebrating its 200th anniversary, lecturers of the Bolyai Society also presented how mathematical associations have nurtured generations for decades to love mathematics and how they help mathematical talents to flourish and reach the forefront of the world through, among other things, journals and competitions. In the second part of the session, the 2025 awards of the János Bolyai Mathematical Society were presented, and a lecture was given by Károly Podoski in honor of research professor László Pyber, who was awarded the Tibor Szele Memorial Medal for his outstanding achievements in the field of mathematics.
