Online Number Theory Seminar
Abstract: Families of Thue equations have been studied by several authors and already an extensive list of papers concerning this topic exists. In this talk we consider the case of so-called twisted Thue equations. It is already known due to Levesque and Waldschmidt (2012) that for only finitely many twists a Thue euqation has non-trivial solutions. However, their result is not effective. In this talk we present new effective results on the finiteness of solutions to twisted Thue equations and improve a previous result of Levesque and Waldschmidt (2013).
