Title: Automorphism groups and their compactifications

Abstract: We will discuss some distinguished ambits (such as the WAP compactification) that are associated to any topological group, and see how these can be described in the case of oligomorphic groups and other related infinite-dimensional groups, by means of model-theory. We will also review the parallel with the theory of Banach representations of dynamical systems, and discuss a recent work with Itaï Ben Yaacov and Todor Tsankov about Hilbert-representable flows.
