Carl Winslow (Copenhagen): (How) Can future secondary teachers benefit from university mathematics?

Absztrakt: The question in the title is among the original problems for research in didactics of mathematics. After reviewing some positions and studies relating to this problem, we consider more closely the case of real numbers and a study of students' work with this topic in a capstone course for future teachers at the University of Copenhagen. We emphasize "task design" as a crucial challenge in such courses and also as an important meeting point for experts of mathematics and its didactics.
