Description
Classic control theory is applied to network-based epidemic models in the talk.
In particular, we apply nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) to a pairwise
ODE model which we use to describe a susceptible-infectious-susceptible (SIS)
epidemic on a network. The goal of control is to eradicate the disease while
keeping the network well connected. Moreover we use the control of the pairwise
ODE model to control the stochastic simulation. The talk gives a thorough and
detailed numerical investigation of the impact and interaction of system and
control parameters on the controllability of the system.
