S E C O N D A N N O U N C E M E N TLogic in Hungary, 2005 We take great pleasure in announcing that the Janos Bolyai Mathematical Society is going to organize a conference on mathematical logic. With this event we would like to celebrate the unique event that two great Hungarian logicians, L. Kálmar and R. Péter, both have their centenary of birth in 2005. In this announcement we deliver information about the invited speakers, contributed talks, abstract submission, registration, conference venue, travel grants and accomodation. Further information will be posted on the home page of the confrence at http://www.renyi.hu/lh05 as it becomes available. We suggest you to check it regularly. INVITED SPEAKERSThe following invited speakers have already indicated their intention to participate at the conference. CONTRIBUTED TALKSThe official language of the conference is English. Each contributed talk has a 20-minute time slot. Every lecture room has an overhead and video projector. Please note however, that there will be no blackboard in the lecture rooms. If you wish to present a contributed talk, do not forget to submit the abstract of your talk. ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONAbstracts of contributed talks are handled by a service of Atlas Conferences Inc. Please use the Abstract Submission tab on the right for submission and checking. REGISTRATIONYou may register on-line by clicking on the Registration tab. If you need a letter of invitation, please contact directly the Bolyai Society. CONFERENCE DATE AND VENUEThe conference will be held between August 5-10. The recommended arrival date is August 4, the recommended departure date is August 11. The conference will take place at the Corvinus University of Budapest, Faculty of Public Administration. The address is: 5, Ménesi út, Budapest, 11th district. It is a nice, quiet location on Buda side, at Gellért hill's side that is at the same walking distance from the river Danube as the city center. TRAVEL GRANTSAs a sponsor of the conference, the Association for Symbolic Logic provides grants covering partially the travel expenses of Ph.d. students and young researchers who are members of the ASL. Applications should be submitted directly to the ASL. More information can be found at http://www.aslonline.org. ACCOMODATION We reserved a block of dormitory rooms at the conference site. It is
possible to extend your stay in these rooms by arriving a few days
before and/or departing a few days after the conference.
Each room contains two separate beds and two rooms form a unit having
a common bathroom. The rooms are definitely of better quality than
usual dormitory rooms or usual student hostel rooms. The prices per
person (for one night) are as follows:
