Newton diagrams and algebraic varieties

We analyze the zero set of complex algebraic equations
in three different situation: in the local germ case
(C^n,0), in the affine case C^n and in the
complex torus (C^*)^n. We connect the topology of the zero set
with the combinatorics of the associated Newton diagrams.
