KÖMAL,the Hungarian Mathematical and Physical Journal for Secondary Schools is one the oldest  such
monthly all over the world, founded in 1896 (not a mistake, in the 19th century!) It's problem solving
competition contributed to the fame of Hungarian mathematics and the success of the young Hungarian
competitors on the  international olimpiades. The problems are hard and interesting, usually the kids
have a month to solve them and submit via mail. The competition is open to anybody of the appropriate age.
By now the journal is available in English on the net and sporadic English issues are printed as well.
The problems, though elementary, can be very difficult (I would dare to say that the existence of KOMAL
was one of the ideas initiated 20 years ago our famous Conjecture and proof course), so do not be shy
to come and see (or present) the solutions.
The problems to be discussed during the session will be posted here soon and will be available from the office as well.
