ALL WELCOME!

Abstract:  I will present a few interesting problems related to  computing the length of daylight at a particular latitude on the Earth
at a particular time of the year.  The problems give a relevant, interesting and accessible perspective on the dot product, spherical
coordinates and projections as well as a little lesson on local   astronomy.
This is a preview of an article of mine that will appear in the College Mathematics Journal in January.
  Prerequisite:  vector calculus.
