Horizon of Combinatorics intends to gather researchers from all areas related to combinatorics. These include amongst others:

  • Combinatorial structures (graphs, hypergraphs, matroids, designs, permutation groups).
  • Combinatorial optimization.
  • Combinatorial aspects of geometry and number theory.
  • Infinte combinatorics
  • Algebraic combinatorics
  • Algorithms in combinatorics and related fields.

It continues the tradition of great conferences held in Hungary, the land of Paul Erdős, László Lovász, Vera T. Sós, and András Hajnal.

The list of distinguished invited speakers ensures the very high quality of talks that cover the most recent leading research directions.

Horizon of Combinatorics consists of two events: An EMS conference at Balatonalmádi and in the week before that, an EMS Summer School, which is organized under the same title in Budapest. The latter is devoted to the training of young researchers, funding is available for a limited number of participants. For details please check this page. Some of the invited speakers and leading Hungarian researchers will give series of talks about their respective research areas, with plenty of time for group discussions and problem sessions.

The EMS Summer School is held at the Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics, Budapest.

The conference part will take place at Hotel Ramada Lake Balaton in Balatonalmádi, a beautiful holiday spot about 120 kms from Budapest.
